About Breast Lift

A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness.

These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result from:

- Pregnancy  - Aging - Breastfeeding  - Gravity - Weight fluctuations

Also known as mastopexy, a breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. Sometimes the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a breast lift will reduce this as well. A breast lift can rejuvenate your figure with a breast profile that is youthful and uplifted.

Breast lift surgery does not significantly change the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of your breast. If you want your breasts to look fuller or smaller, you might want to consider either breast augmentation or breast reduction surgery. There are several types of breast lift procedures, each useful for different kinds of patients.  

A breast lift is a good option for you if:

About Leonard Tachmes, M.D.,P.A

Dr. Leonard Tachmes was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Miami Beach.  A graduate of Miami Beach Senior High School, he received his BS degree from Duke University, and his MD degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. 

He completed a fellowship in Plastic Surgery of the Breast and Reconstructive Microsurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan;  A residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals; a residency in General Surgery at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and an internship in surgery at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, N.Y.

Dr. Tachmes is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.  He is author/co-author of fourteen scientific research papers published in various journals of medicine and surgery.  He is in his fourteenth year of private practice in Miami.
